About the fluffle podcast S2:
Exactly one year since the launch of the fluffle podcast, Asia’s first womxn in music collective fluffle keeps the momentum going, launching the second season of the podcast 5th March with an intimate conversation with podcast host Jocelle Koh.
While the first season of the podcast focused on diverse profiles of womxn in music across Asia who were expert multihyphenates in their fields, (such as Dizzy Dizzo (Taiwan), Amber Akilla (Shanghai), Tyen Rasif (Singapore)), encouraging creative exploration and curiosity in all its forms is the guiding principle of season two, across a variety of topics with interview guests from across Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Canada and Australia.
“This season we learned from a variety of womxn in music across unique topics of interest they held, such as sustainability, faith, A.I., surfing, acting and more. I’m a serial hobbyist, and realised that following my curiosity, even way past what others considered rational has been a big factor in my own creative fulfilment and empowerment. Women have been traditionally discouraged from widely exploring their interests and curiosities unless they exist within the narrow structures of the patriarchy, so each time womxn explore their curiosities, I consider it an act of activism” says Jocelle.
Supported by global music distributor Tunecore for the second year in a row, in celebration of Tunecore’s 20th year of driving independence and diversity in the music scene this season of the podcast promises to feature topics much aligned with Tunecore’s values, discussing topics such as A.I., digital music ethics and female empowerment through various lens in the music industry.
The podcast will air monthly on the first Thursday of each month for ten episodes concluding in December 2026.

Episode Eight: The art of healing with Ariel Tsai

Taiwanese Canadian singer-songwriter and content creator Ariel Tsai is one of the most hardworking people I know. Getting her start live-streaming and singing Mandopop songs at 5am in the morning from Canada while pursuing a degree in pharmacy, she has successfully pivoted into a shining star on the Mandopop scene today with her ear catching ballads and kind, positive spirit.
We talked about mental health, her work ethic, and the importance of personal growth to this self starter that never stops learning. A huge welcome to Ariel to the fluffle podcast!
Episode Seven: Be strong like a tree with Kiwako Ashimine

Born on the sunny, surf-filled shores of Okinawa with an opera singer for a mother, Japanese singer-songwriter Kiwako Ashimine had a less than normal upbringing, and this shines through in her sound too.
A DIY musician who has experimented with genres such as lo-Fi and R&B to folk and dark pop, her clean, piercing vocals have the ability to command the attention of even the largest room. We spoke to Kiwako about her musical philosophy, and where that unique resolve we hear threaded through her works come from. Welcome Kiwako, to the fluffle podcast!
Episode Six: Turning your passion into your career with Hazelle Teo

A mainstay of the Singapore radio scene, DJ Hazelle Teo is known for being a multitalented beauty, whose bubbly personality shines through even just from her voice. Known not only for her popular radio show on Yes 933, but also for her love for dance, fitness and optimistic outlook on life, we dug into her origin story, and how she juggles being a DJ, host, actress, content creator and everything in between. Welcome Hazelle, to the fluffle podcast!
Episode Five: Where identity and performance intersect with Yulan Jack

Singaporean-Australian artist Yulan Jack is a creative force to be reckoned with. While best known as a professional actress with leading roles in Deadloch, she is also a writer and musician who has recently begun working on mainstay music project Yulan & Blaise. She shared with us about the parallels of acting and creating music, and how both mediums (and all the others she works in) scratch different creative itches as part of her practice. Welcome Yulan to the fluffle podcast!
Episode Four: Can music and A.I. Harmonise? with Anie Fann

Singapore based Taiwanese-Canadian singer-songwriter Anie Fann has carved a niche for herself within Taiwan’s indie scene as an artist who is as genre-bending as she is cerebral. Preferring to focus on modern problems that society presents us rather than stock-standard themes of romance and fluff, the inquisitive singer-songwriter has in the last few years begun exploring the digital ethics of technological innovation and more interestingly, AI.
A polarising and vast topic whose possibilities threatens to simultaneously overtake and boost human creative potential to the next level, we picked Anie’s brain on her relationship with A.I., and how she sees it transform our relationship with our creative selves. Welcome Anie, to the fluffle podcast!
Episode Three: Navigating community & creativity as third culture kids with Chara Kai-Le

Upon meeting Toronto based alt-pop singer songwriter Chara Kai-Le for the first time, it felt like we had known each other forever. A third culture kid who has grown up in Singapore, Malaysia and Gloucester, we immediately bonded over our shared third culture kid identity. Chara shared with us her experiences navigating this through her music, and how her perspective on this has evolved since her debut in 2020. Welcome Chara to the fluffle podcast!
Episode Two: On Faith, Sustainability and…Heavy Metal? with Voice of Baceprot

Indonesian heavy metal band Voice of Baceprot are the most pint sized heavy hitters you will ever meet. Coming from their hometown of Singajaya in West Java, Marsha, Siti and Widi have toured the world – gracing the likes of Glastonbury, SXSW, F1 and spreading their unique message of peace that comes from a very personal place. Drawing on their own personal experiences to speak on faith, sustainability and female empowerment in their music, these girls have taught me that anyone with a voice can make a change. Welcome VOB to the fluffle podcast!
Episode One: Drawing on your inner strength with Jocelle Koh ft. Small FRY

On this very special first episode of season 2 of the fluffle podcast, the tables have turned. Instead of me interviewing a fellow woman in music, I’ll be interviewed by our audio editor Small FRY, a dear friend who also wears multiple hats as a DJ, radio host and artist manager. We talked about all the bits of advice I’ve given over the first season of the podcast, and why drawing on my own inner strength has been such a key part of my own story through all my endeavours. Welcoming you, our dear listeners to the first episode of season 2 of the fluffle podcast!
